Maryland Officiants is always available to answer our clients’ questions. For your convenience, here are the answers to those we’re asked most frequently. Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly if you don’t see your question below!
How Far Ahead Do We Need To Book You?
The most popular wedding months, April through October, tend to book up quickly, which is why we suggest you contact us as soon in the process as possible. Most of our clients hire us between six and 12 months before the wedding day to ensure that we’re not sold out. Of course, we’ll accommodate short-term bookings, and even last-minute requests, whenever possible! You can click here to check our availability for your date.
What Is The Cost For Your Services?
Providing you with our best price possible, based on your selected package (Full-Scale Wedding or Elopement) and the date, time and location of your wedding, is our goal. We’ll gladly provide you with a complete price quote when you contact us!
Can We Get Any Type Of Discount?
Because of our goal of making the best possible rate available to every couple who hires us, we don’t offer specific discounts for any individual or group. Your rate is the discounted rate!
Can You Put a Hold Our Date?
We are happy to place a courtesy hold on your date for 10 days from the time you’re matched with an officiant, so that you have time to speak personally with that officiant and electronically sign your contract.
How Much Is The Deposit?
For full-scale weddings, we collect a 50% deposit with the signed contract, and the balance 30 days prior to your wedding day. You’re more than welcome to pay at full at signing if it simplifies things for you, but we don’t require it! For elopements, we collect full payment with the signed contract. We aim to keep the payment process very simple for our clients and ourselves!
Do You Accept Credit Cards?
Credit cards are the only payment type we take! We’ll send you an electronic contract and link to our payment system to make hiring your officiant as convenient as possible.
Can We Personalize Our Ceremony?
Creating customized ceremonies for our couples is what Maryland Officiants is known for! Our full-scale wedding clients work directly with their officiant to personalize each detail of the wedding ceremony, making it unique and special for each couple. For our elopement clients, we offer multiple ceremony scripts to choose from – you can find more details on this on our Maryland Elopements page.
If We Come From Different Religious Backgorunds, Can You Still Do Our Ceremony?
It would be our pleasure! Interfaith weddings are one of our most commonly received requests. Our wedding officiants will work with you to develop a ceremony that honors both of your faiths, and have a library of resources and readings to inspire you.
What If We Want a Religious (Or Completely Non-Religious) Ceremony?
Maryland Officiants can accommodate a fully religious ceremony, non-religious ceremony, or ceremony that falls somewhere in the middle. All of our officiants are highly experienced in personalizing ceremonies to reflect your wishes.
Do You Perform LGBT Weddings?
The answer is a resounding yes! All of us at Maryland Officiants consider it a privilege to serve all couples.
Am I Able To Change My Wedding Date, Time, or Location?
While we’ll do everything we can to accommodate a necessary change in your wedding date, time, or venue, we can’t guarantee our availability. If something happens and you need to change your plans, please contact us right away so that we can work together on a solution that suits everyone.
Will You Come To Our Wedding Rehearsal?
Generally, we suggest having a friend or family member direct your rehearsal, using our free Wedding Rehearsal Guide. This avoids any extra cost, and your wedding will run as smoothly as if we had attended the rehearsal – this is because the ceremony itself isn’t practiced, only your entrance and exit. If you really want an officiant to be there, and we have the availability, we can generate a separate contract for the rehearsal for an additional fee.
Will You Do a Ceremony For Us If We’re Already Legally Married?
That’s no problem at all, and a more common request than you might think! Maryland Officiants works with couples all the time who are already married (for example, military couples), so that they have the opportunity to exchange vows in front of family and friends. If you’ve complied with local marriage laws and can furnish a copy of your marriage certificate for us to verify, we’d love to work with you!
How Do We Go About Hiring You?
It’s easy! Simply complete our contact form, and we’ll send you a price quote and all the information you need to book our services.
